Tanya Murray has been a hygienist in Carroll County for decades, coming to Maryland after working in Louisiana and Arkansas. She graduated from the University of Tennessee and is an active member of state and national professional organizations. She has served as an officer in her local chapter and in the Arkansas state chapter of the American Dental Hygienists Association.
Tanya enjoys serving the residents of Carroll County in a warm, friendly manner and is proud to count second--and even third--generations--among her patients. She enjoys the arts, frequent trips to New York, her Louisiana heritage and rooting for her home teams. Her daughter Shannon is a research scientist working in Florida.
Kim obtained her Registered Dental Hygiene degree from Baltimore City Community College. She joined Dr. Whitney's dental team in 2008 and appreciates the friendly and comfortable environment. You will find Kim is very gentle and will make you feel at ease right away. She likes to take as many classes as she can to learn about the newest dental hygiene techniques to help improve oral health. In her spare time, Kim really enjoys visiting new places with her family, going to see new movies and taking her dog for long walks.
Marcy has been with us one day a week for nine years and just recently joined our team full time. Marcy was born in Pennsylvania and lived the majority of her life in Pottstown, PA before moving to Maryland in 1996. She graduated from Montgomery County Community College in 1979 with her degree in dental hygiene. Marcy is married to Jim and they have a son, Nate, and daughter, Ashley. They also have two dogs, Sasha and Floyd. Ashley and her husband reside in Union Bridge and Nate and his wife live in Colorado.
Marcy’s husband’s job brought them to Maryland in 1996 and Marcy received her dental hygiene license in Maryland at that time. Marcy spent 10 of her 39 years in pediatric dentistry and the remaining years in family dentistry. Marcy continues to keep up with continuing education courses to learn new things and keep up with the current world of dentistry. After 39 years, she still loves what she does. By treating patients in her gentle and caring way she loves helping them to genuinely enjoy coming to the dentist.
In Marcy’s spare time you may find her riding horses with her daughter, mucking stalls, walking or grooming her dogs, scrapbooking, doing crafts, making puzzles, visiting shut-ins and friends, just relaxing at home, or enjoying time with her family. Marcy and Jim have quite a few grandchildren of the furry persuasion, including: two dogs, three cats, and a pig. Marcy loves her animals as much as she loves getting to know people which is her favorite part of the job.
Erin joined our team at the beginning of 2019, soon after Tanya Murray retired. She has been in the dentistry field for 12 years now and absolutely loves what she does. Erin chose dentistry because she loves teeth and has a desire to help educate people on good oral health. Her kind and gentle demeanor, along with her contagious smile, help ease patient anxiety. In her spare time, Erin enjoys spending time with her significant other Mark and their son Anthony, as well as, traveling, going to concerts, trying out new restaurants and participating in outdoor activities.
